Hope in Preston

Partnership Action Weeks

PAW

The latest Partnership Action Week took place mid April in Avenham. The local churches, the police and a variety of agencies from the social services got together to litter pick in the area, to provide coffee and chat, to give tasters of things like parenting and relationship courses. The Partnership Action Weeks are a great opportunity for the local churches to work together, with the police and other agencies to help clean up tired streets, to chat with our neighbours and to offer services and support that may not be easy to access in any other wayThe next PAW is in Fishwick on the 8th and 9th July Ingol and Tanterton are next, on the 14th and 15th October

Come and join us to pray for Preston and the surrounding towns and villages

from Saturday 13th April at 8.00pm each and every hour through until Saturday 20th April at 8.00pm people will be at Fishergate Baptist church praying for our city, towns and villages. This isn't any old prayer meeting - don't worry about getting bored, or having to pray out loud, or even not knowing what to pray - there are so many activities and ideas you won't have enough time to do everything you want to do!! Or, you can just sit and be, no words necessary, rest and relax and spend some time just 'being' with God. Just go down the side of the church and ring on the bell to get in.

Hope on the Park

Easter Monday saw the first city wide Hope initiative take place with Hope on the Park.

The Hope in the Park Tent was full of people all day. People from churches from across Preston served tea and coffee. There was face painting which was a great success with hundreds of children turned into butterflies and tigers, and just a few into Spiderman! A superb Puppet Show entertained us all as the Roman Soldiers told us about the first Easter Day and all the puppets joined in with a rousing chorus at the end. Hundreds of balloons with Messages of Hope were sent into the sky for the balloon race, some have already made it as far as France and almost 100 prayer requests were posted in the Prayer Boxes or stuck onto the Prayer Tree. Everyone had a great time, chatting, having fun and enjoying relaxing together.
